Teltronic TETRA chosen for Bangkok rapid transit

Teltronic has been selected by system integrator AMR Asia to supply a TETRA system for the Gold Line, an ‘automatic people mover’ that is under construction and will be the first feeder line of Bangkok’s rapid transit system.

Teltronic provides an end-to-end solution comprising its switching control node, base stations, SC20 handheld terminals and desktop units. The communications will be managed from Teltronic’s command and control centre.

“We feel honoured to count on AMR Asia’s trust to provide the mission-critical communications of the Gold Line project. Thailand is a key country for us in coming years with a strong growth potential led by a good number of new railway projects,” said Josep Jonch, APAC Regional Director for Teltronic.

“This project brings to light, one more time, the versatility and reliability of TETRA in transport environments, and the bright future that lies ahead for this technology,” said Felipe Sanjuán, Teltronic’s Transport Business Development Director.

“TETRA manufacturers keep innovating through new technology developments every year. Where other radio technologies are announcing [their] end of life in coming years, TETRA is a solid technology that will be there for many years to come.”
